Jolies couleurs pour Pâques! / Beautiful colors for Easter!

Nous avons la chance d'avoir un boulanger juste à côté de notre atelier qui fabrique de très bon pain et qui a utilisé des magnifiques couleurs pour ses gâteaux et œufs de Pâques. Des couleurs qui nous rappellent presque certaines couleurs dans notre gamme de peintures au lait Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint!

We're lucky to have a bakery just next door to our studio that makes delicious bread and that used yummy colors for their Easter eggs and cakes.  Somes colors even reminded us of those found in the line of Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint!  We wish you all a happy Easter, full of joy, love and peace.

Les couleurs de Mars / Colors for March!

Les couleurs pour le mois de mars sont Trophy et French Enamel!

Trophy est un gris riche et chaud, avec des nuances de jaune.  Appliquer le en sous-couche de Grain Sack (notre blanc cassé) et de Ironstone (notre blanc) pour obtenir un fini délavé, façon Suédoise.

Trophy and French Enamel are the colors for March!

Trophy is a warm, rich gray with yellow undertones.  This gray is reminiscent of tarnished silver found on antique trophies. Use it as under-color for Grain Sack and Ironstone to create faded finish.

French Enamel est une demi-teinte de bleu.  Mélangez-le avec le rouge (Tricycle) pour obtenir une couleur violette, ou avec du noir (Typewriter) pour obtenir un bleu foncé.  French Enamel se marie bien avec Flow Blue et Mustard Seed Yellow.

French Enamel is a vibrant mid-tone blue.  When mixed with Tricycle, it gives a vibrant purple color, and when mixed with Typewriter, it gives a darker, more muted blue.  French Enamel pairs well with Flow Blue and Mustard Seed Yellow.

Les couleurs du mois et Shabby Chic à Tokyo / Colors of the month and Shabby Chic in Tokyo

Peinture au lait à Tokyo...?  Lors d'un voyage dans cette étonnante mégapole (37 millions d'habitants dans le Grand Tokyo-Yokohama, plus que la moitié de la population de France), nous avons eu le plaisir de rentrer dans une boutique qui était entièrement décorée avec du Shabby Chic. Les meubles et objets étaient sans doute relookés avec de la peinture au lait!

Milk paint in Tokyo...?  We had the pleasure of visiting this amazing megapolis last month (greater Tokyo-Yokohama area has a population of 37 million...more than half of the population of France....!).  As we were strolling around a posh shopping area, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a stylish boutique that was entirely decorated in Shabby Chic style.  The beautiful finishes on the furniture and objects were no doubt done with milk paint?!

Arabesque & Apron Strings

Les couleurs du mois de février sont Arabesque et Apron Strings.  Arabesque est un rose doux et poudreux, et fait partie de la gamme "couleur Européenne" de Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint.  Sophistiqué et neutre, cette couleur est disponible exclusivement en Europe mais, ailleurs, en série limitée.La deuxième couleur, Apron Strings est une couleur framboise/corail.  Lorsqu'elle est mélangée avec Ironstone elle crée de très belles nuances de corail.

Arabesque and Aprong Strings are the colors for the month of February. 
Arabesque, a soft, dusty pink with lots of warmth to it, is a sophisticated and neutral color. It is part of the European line for Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint that is available exclusively in Europe and in limited amounts elsewhere.

The other color is Apron Strings, a lovely raspberry/coral color that when mixed with the with Ironstone creates beautiful shades of coral.

Et pour bien démarrer l'année, pourquoi ne pas commencer une liste de meubles à relooker et repeindre avec une peinture écologique comme la peinture au lait?  Ironstone et Bergère sont les deux "couleurs du mois" de la gamme Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint.

Ironstone est la couleur "blanche" de la gamme Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint.  Ce blanc cassé froid contient une petite nuance de gris et convient pour éclaircir une autre couleur ou pour harmoniser les couleurs entre elles.

And why not start off the year with a list of furniture to revamp using an ecological and natural product like milk paint?  Ironstone and Bergere are the two 'colors of the month' in the Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint line.

Ironstone is the 'white' in this line; it is a slightly cooler off-white and can be used with other colors to lighten.  Ironstone pairs well with everything.

L'autre couleur pour le mois de janvier c'est Bergère, un bleu/gris foncé qui apparaît plus bleue ou plus grise selon ce qui l'entoure.  Une couleur calme et neutre, Bergère a des nuances plus chaudes que les autres bleus de la gamme Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint.

The other color for the month of January is Bergere, a smokey blue/gray that will have different nuances depending on what's around.  In some light it may look bluer, grayer and lighter or darker.  Bergere has much warmer undertones than the other blues in the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint line.

Les couleurs pour décembre! / MMSMP colors for December!

C'est déjà le mois de décembre, et naturellement la couleur du mois est le vert.  Dans la gamme de peinture au lait Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, nous avons deux couleurs pour le mois de décembre. 

Le premier est Boxwood, un joli vert gazon foncé.  Selon l'effet que vous souhaitez obtenir, Boxwood peut apparaître vif ou subtil, un peu comme la couleur olive adoucie.  It's already December, and when we think of this festive season it's not surprising that the color of the month would be green.  In the line of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, we have two beautiful colors for December.

The first color is Boxwood, a beautiful dark grassy green.  Depending on the finish you wish to obtain, Boxwood can look bright or subtle, a bit like a muted olive.

La deuxième est Marzipan, une couleur neutre et chaleureuse.  Marzipan fait partie de la gamme Européenne de Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint et cette couleur douce avec un très léger accent beige est disponible exclusivement en Europe. 

The second color is Marzipan, a very soft, warm neutral with hints of beige in it.  Marzipan is one of the colors in the European line for Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, available exclusively in Europe and in limited edition elsewhere.

Les couleurs de novembre! MMSMP colors for November!

Les couleurs pour novembre sont Curio et Mustard Seed Yellow.Curio est un brun riche, qui sera parfait à utiliser en tant que glacis ou teinture. Mustard Seed Yellow est une couleur jaune crémeuse.  Elle est vive et heureuse sans excès.

MMSMP colors for November are Curio and Mustard Seed Yellow.
Curio is a rich walnut brown, perfect to use as glaze or as stain.
Mustard Seed Yellow is a warm, buttery yellow.  It's bright without being too bold and it's a perfect "happy yellow".
