Les couleurs pour décembre! / MMSMP colors for December!

C'est déjà le mois de décembre, et naturellement la couleur du mois est le vert.  Dans la gamme de peinture au lait Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, nous avons deux couleurs pour le mois de décembre. 

Le premier est Boxwood, un joli vert gazon foncé.  Selon l'effet que vous souhaitez obtenir, Boxwood peut apparaître vif ou subtil, un peu comme la couleur olive adoucie.  It's already December, and when we think of this festive season it's not surprising that the color of the month would be green.  In the line of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, we have two beautiful colors for December.

The first color is Boxwood, a beautiful dark grassy green.  Depending on the finish you wish to obtain, Boxwood can look bright or subtle, a bit like a muted olive.

La deuxième est Marzipan, une couleur neutre et chaleureuse.  Marzipan fait partie de la gamme Européenne de Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint et cette couleur douce avec un très léger accent beige est disponible exclusivement en Europe. 

The second color is Marzipan, a very soft, warm neutral with hints of beige in it.  Marzipan is one of the colors in the European line for Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint, available exclusively in Europe and in limited edition elsewhere.

Les couleurs de novembre! MMSMP colors for November!

Les couleurs pour novembre sont Curio et Mustard Seed Yellow.Curio est un brun riche, qui sera parfait à utiliser en tant que glacis ou teinture. Mustard Seed Yellow est une couleur jaune crémeuse.  Elle est vive et heureuse sans excès.

MMSMP colors for November are Curio and Mustard Seed Yellow.
Curio is a rich walnut brown, perfect to use as glaze or as stain.
Mustard Seed Yellow is a warm, buttery yellow.  It's bright without being too bold and it's a perfect "happy yellow".

Les couleurs pour octobre! MMSMP colors for October!

Voici les couleurs du mois d'octobre pour la gamme de peintures au lait Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint:  Schloss et Typewriter! 

Schloss est une couleur qui change d'aspect selon ce qu'elle accompagne, c'est pour cela qu'on l'appelle couleur "caméléon".  Appliquée sur du bois brut (voir photo collage ci-après) elle apparaît beige, et sur la table de chevet elle donne un aspect gris chaud. 

Typewriter est le noir dans cette gamme, il est assez doux et son nom vient de la couleur noire traditionnellement utilisée sur les machines à écrire vintage.

The colors for the month of October in the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint line are Schloss and Typewriter.  Schloss is a color that changes according to what it's next to, which is why it's called the 'chameleon color'. Applied over raw wood (see photo collage below), it appears beige, on an upscaled side table it gives off a warm grey tone.

Typewriter is the black in the Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint line, it is a soft black and its name is derived from the traditional black used on vintage typewriters.

Nous pouvons vraiment jouer avec la peinture au lait. J'ai le plaisir de vous montrer quelques réalisations créées de John Tandberg d'Affreuville-Brasseuil.  John a utilisé la couleur Typewriter en superposition avec d'autres couleurs pour créer un aspect de peinture vieilli.

Pour sa chaise longue Adirondack, John a d'abord appliqué une couche de Curio (couleur brune) avant d'appliquer une couche de Typewriter.  Ensuite, après un ponçage léger, John a appliqué l'huile de chanvre pour protéger la peinture au lait.

We can really play with milk paint in so many different ways.  I have the pleasure to show you some creations by John Tandberg who used Typewriter with other colors to create aged patina effects.

For his Adirondack chair John first applied a layer of Curio (the brown color of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint line).  He then applied a layer of Typewriter and then sanded lightly in order to obtain an aged look.

Peinture au lait au Festival de D'Artagnan! / Introducting Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint at D'Artagnan Festival!

C'est lors du festival D'Artagnan chez D'Artagnan que la «Route européenne d'Artagnan» a été lancé dimanche à Lupiac, dans le département du Gers, où est né il y a 400 ans le plus célèbre des mousquetaires.

La «Route européenne d'Artagnan», projet de route équestre européenne sur les traces de d'Artagnan, doit ouvrir en 2017 et va permettre de relier à cheval Lupiac, où est né d'Artagnan en 1615, à Maastricht, aux Pays-Bas, où il est mort en 1673 lors du siège de la ville.

Nous avons profité de l'occasion de ce Festival pour promouvoir la peinture au lait Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.

Horse riders will soon be able to follow the trail of France's most famous Musketeer, d'Artagnan, under a project launched Sunday in the town where he was born 400 years ago.

Due to open in 2017, the "D'Artagnan European Route" will stretch from his home town of Lupiac in southwestern France to Maastrich in the Netherlands, where he died during a siege in 1673, the organisers said.

The launch coincided with the annual D'Artagnan Festival in Lupiac, where he was born in 1615.

Hundreds of locals dressed up in the traditional plumed hats and cloaks to re-enact duels and battles and a new 3.5-metre (11.5-feet) statue was inaugurated.

Relookage de bibliothèque / Bookcase makeover

Relookage de bibliothèque avec la peinture au lait de Miss Mustard Seeds.  Pour ce projet, notre ami Eugenio de Barcelone, Espagne, a choisi la couleur Typewriter.  Après application, il l'a patinée pour obtenir l'aspect shabby chic.  Pour la finition, Eugenio a utilisé la cire incolore.  Et voilà, le tour est joué, un joli petit meuble dans son salon!

Before and after photos of a basic bookcase turned into handsome piece after being repainted with Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.  For this bookcase, our friend Eugenio of Barcelona, Spain, chose Typewriter and distressed it to obtain a shabby chic look.  He finished off by applying Miss Mustard Seeds clear furniture wax, and voilà, a handsome decorative piece in his living room!

Relooker deux commodes avec la peinture au lait (peinture à la caséine)

Voici comment vous pouvez relooker vos meubles avec la peinture au lait Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint.  Pour les deux commodes ci-après, nous avons choisi la couleur Bergère.  Bergère est une couleur bleu/gris fumé, selon ce qui l'entoure, elle peut apparaître soit plus bleue soit plus grise, plus claire ou plus foncée.

Using Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint for dresser makeover.  For the two dressers below, we have chose Bergère, a smoky blue/gray that is one of the favorite colors of French clients.  Bergère is a chameleon color, it can look bluer or grayer depending on what's around.

Salon à Nogaro / Introducing milk paint locally

Du 10 au 12 avril nous avons eu le plaisir d'introduire la peinture au lait lors d'un salon d'artisanat dans le Gers.  Ce produit, nouvellement arrivé en France, a attiré l'attention de bon nombre de visiteurs de ce salon!  

From April 10th to April 12th we had the pleasure of introducing milk paint during a local handcraft salon in the Gers.  Salon visitors were intrigued by Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint and stopped by to find out more about this product!

Peinture au lait: préparation du support / Transforming an old table with Milk Paint

Une table achetée chez un brocanteur, nous l'avons transformée avec une touche de peinture au lait pour lui assurer une nouvelle vie!

A little side table bought at a bric-a-brac store... we transformed it with a bit of milk paint to give it a new life!  Here's how it was done.

Décirage, ponçage, époussetage

To prep the table, first remove traces of wax, then sand.

Préparation de la couleur - peinture au lait avec liant acrylique.
